Covisint History

In 1999, a consortium of the world's largest organizations -- General Motors, Ford Motor Company, DaimlerChrysler, Nissan, and Renault -- jointly addressed escalating costs and gross inefficiencies within their industry. Through these efforts, a new breed of business was created, one positioned to leverage the power and potential of the Internet to solve industry-specific business problems in real-time. Its goal: to deliver a secure marketplace, portal and application sharing platform for the global automotive industry.

Purchased by Compuware Corporation, a recognized industry leader in enterprise software and IT services, in February 2004, and are based in Compuware's downtown Detroit world headquarters. Compuware serves the world's largest IT organizations, including 95 percent of the Fortune 100 companies.
