Challenge
- Suppliers needed a single, centralized website location for content and applications.
- Lacked effective channel for communicating timely, vital information such as plant shutdowns and facilities changes to suppliers.
- Supplier access management needed to be managed centrally for all of the supplier-facing applications.
- Existing suppliers must not be negatively impacted by any change and their current access capabilities and application transaction history would seamlessly migrate.
- Help Desk calls (primarily for password related problems) were rising, as were the costs associated with maintaining web access to multiple applications for suppliers.
Solution
- Deployed Covisint, which provided supplier users with a simple, central user interface to access all Delphi applications and because of the industry shared platform approach used by Covisint, the users can also - from the same location - access applications and information for many of their other customers.
- Covisint's access management tools provide centralized access management to all of Delphi's supplier applications and the delegated administration structure enables suppliers to take responsibility for keeping their contact information current with a simple web-based form.
Results
- The Covisint migration tools provide a seamless transition of supplier accounts and access permissions to over 8,400 supplier users that were able to login to Delphi's Supplier Portal and access the Delphi applications on the day of the launch.
- Suppliers have one User ID and password to access multiple customer sites replacing multiple passwords.
- All of Delphi's supplier help desk calls for password related issues and common supplier questions/requests are handled by the Covisint Help Desk.
- Supplier information accuracy improved, particularly because the same information was being shared across multiple customers, such as DaimlerChrysler, Visteon, and Ford.
- Supplier administrators can use a common, online tool to grant access to Delphi applications to the employees in their company; today over 16,500 supplier users have access to the Delphi portal.
