Bruce Swift retains role as Chairman of Board

Southfield, Mich. - June 05, 2003 -- Bob Paul has been named President and CEO of Covisint, the global, independent e-business environment for the automotive industry. The announcement was made by Bruce Swift, Chairman of the company.

As part of the announcement, Swift has accepted an offer of employment with Metaldyne, based in Plymouth, Mich., to serve as President of one of the company's operating divisions. Swift will remain as Chairman.

Paul, 40, has been with Covisint since October 2001 and currently serves as Covisint's Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. He is a veteran of both the automotive and technology businesses. Prior to joining Covisint he was President and Chief Operating Officer of SYNAPZ, a provider of web-based supply-chain management procurement applications for the automotive industry. Before SYNAPZ, Paul was President and Chief Operating Officer of Coherent Networks, a provider of geo-spatial and Internet software solutions.

"Bruce and Bob are key members of a terrific management team that has restored health to Covisint," said Ralph Szygenda, Group Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer for General Motors. "Under their guidance, the company has grown its registered user base to almost 100,000, nearly quadrupling it in the last 12 months and it is expected to double by the end of the year."

According to Gary Valade, Executive Vice President, Global Procurement & Supply, DaimlerChrysler AG, and a member of Covisint's Board of Directors, the company's management team has led the growth of key service offerings such as its portals, which have been embraced by both the automakers and the supplier community.

"Covisint's web portals and data messaging solutions enable more positive and productive relationships between auto makers and suppliers – an important element in today's competitive marketplace," said Valade. "The company has clearly positioned itself in the direction necessary for sustainable growth and success."
