CIGNA HealthCare Teams With Compuware Covisint to Automate and Standardize Provider Utilization Review Practices

Covisint Solution to Streamline the Electronic Exchange of Clinical Information Between CIGNA and Health Care Providers, Improve Provider Retention and Satisfaction

DETROIT--February 21, 2007 -- Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR) today announced that CIGNA HealthCare has signed an agreement to use Compuware Covisint's hosted IT infrastructure for standardizing and automating the exchange of clinical information between the carrier and its contracted health care providers.

The new approach is designed to help simplify communications and alleviate the administrative burden of exchanging clinical information with providers. This approach will transform paper-based utilization review processes into an electronic environment without requiring providers to purchase new technology or significantly change business processes.

With this national rollout, CIGNA HealthCare will eliminate the traditional paper process and provide a full, comprehensive audit trail of communication transactions with providers--a key step toward increasing provider satisfaction. The CIGNA Health Facilitation Centers to be implemented in this approach include: Pittsburgh, Pa.; Phoenix; Raleigh, N.C.; Dallas; Chattanooga, Tenn.; and Glendale, Calif.

"Working collaboratively with health care providers to help reduce their administrative costs and the complexity of doing business is a strategic imperative of CIGNA HealthCare," said Susan Gaca, Senior Director of Health Facilitation Center Operations for CIGNA. "Using the Compuware Covisint solution supports our goals of quick, easy and paperless interaction with health care professionals."

"CIGNA HealthCare is a major innovator in transforming the care delivery system by adopting the use of technology," said Brett Furst, Vice President of Healthcare for Compuware Covisint. "Going 'paperless' is another example of CIGNA HealthCare's commitment to increasing satisfaction with the provider community. We are extremely pleased to team up with CIGNA to help them achieve these important benefits for providers."
