DETROIT and GAYDON, U.K.--August 6, 2009--Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ: CPWR) announced that its Covisint subsidiary is now providing Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), a subsidiary of Tata Motors, with a solution for secure communication and collaboration between the company and its suppliers. With Covisint, JLR has launched the Jaguar Land Rover Supplier Portal to improve the sharing of information and streamline collaborative business processes with supplier partners globally. ”
Large manufacturing companies with global operations face several technology and flexibility challenges in providing suppliers with secure access to critical business information. Covisint helps customers like JLR reduce the cost of maintaining a supplier-facing collaboration solution and redirect valuable resources toward improving business processes with suppliers.
JLR is leveraging Covisint’s collaboration platform to securely share a large number of company-specific applications with its global supplier base. In addition, JLR is improving supplier collaboration by providing access to an extensive library of updated documents and information. The JLR Supplier Portal will also include the latest Covisint platform capabilities such as wikis, blogs, dashboarding and secure file exchange capabilities for real-time communication and collaboration.
“Covisint streamlines business communication and collaboration, regardless of a customer’s geography, unique technology strategy or size of partnership network,” said David McGuffie, Compuware Covisint President and COO. “Covisint collaboration solutions are the automotive industry standard, used by Ford, Chrysler, Daimler, Delphi, Freightliner, Mitsubishi, Visteon and thousands of other manufacturing organizations. This partnership extends our position as one of Europe’s—and for that matter, the world’s—leading automotive collaboration engine,” McGuffie added.
